Effective teaching is a combination of multiple factors such as expertise in a particular field, effective communication skills, classroom presence, and an ability to inspire students among other things. Just like it takes two hands to clap, for effective learning students also need to become better learners.

In addition, there is a need to constantly innovate and improve on the teaching pedagogies and learning methodologies so as to maximize the learning of the students. Further, our growing student base brings its own set of challenges such as effective management of large classrooms, aligning experiential learning with the needs of diverse industries and segments, etc. Also, technological innovations such as Artificial Intelligence needs to be integrated into the very fabric of teaching and learning and our evaluation frameworks need to be continuously improved to meet the evolving challenges.

In this context, BITS, Pilani has set up the Center for Education Research and Innovation with the dual objective of enabling instructors to become better teachers and enabling students to become better learners.
